The price of the ultrasound depends on the type of ultrasound/sonar performed e.g. Abdominal & Pelvic, Pregnancy, MSK. Feel free to contact us to enquire about the price of an examination.
If you are referred by a doctor, the referral letter will contain the type of sonar the doctor wants us to perform. If you suspect or have a positive pregnancy test you will need a pregnancy scan. Please provide the type of sonar you need when making an appointment.
Ultrasound needs to be paid for on the day of service.
We deal with most of the medical aids. Discovery rates are charged. Your medical aid payment and co-payment will be determined by your medical aid. It depends on your medical aid option and available benefits.
You will be notified via Whatsapp and by email should you medical aid not pay the claim.
During these trying and difficult times, we understand that everybody suffers financially. Payment options are available. We encourage however that accounts be settled as soon as possible.
It is always better to consult your doctor before you book an ultrasound. In case of pregnancy, a referral letter is not needed.
You will receive your report before you leave our rooms on the day of your ultrasound.
The gender of the baby can be determined from 16 weeks of gestation.
An anatomical / morphological / detailed ultrasound is performed around 20 weeks and is a diagnostic ultrasound that is used to rule out abnormalities.
A 3/4D scan is a cosmetic ultrasound that is like a photo shoot of your baby’s face for a keepsake.
We can start to see a fetus at 6 weeks from the first day of your last period.
At 4 -5 weeks only a gestation sac will be visible.
Routine pregnancy ultrasound advised, not earlier than 6 weeks gestation.
It is always better to schedule an appointment to reduce waiting at our practice.
However, if it is an emergency we will always assist as soon as possible.
