Payment Terms
We accept cash, card or most medial aid payments.
The cost of the scan depends on the type of ultrasound performed.
SA MEDICAL SCHEME PATIENTS
At Richelle Willemse Diagnostic Ultrasound we accept most medical aids. Also note that all examinations are covered on the Discovery Key Care option.
Note that Richelle Willemse Diagnostic Ultrasound charge rates similar to the Discovery Medical aid tariffs.
Whilst the account remains your responsibility to settle, we will submit accounts on your behalf to your medical aid scheme if it is in good standing. To facilitate this, we require your permission to do so, proof of current membership and confirmation that we have your correct medical aid membership and personal details.
The specific terms and conditions of your membership plan with your medical scheme are contained in the rules of your fund and the plan you have selected.
It is essential that you familiarize yourself with the benefits and obligations in terms of your particular membership in consultation with your medical scheme and or broker.
Some scheme options offer highly restricted benefits and or may require a co-payment.
The scheme rules may indicate that the scheme will only settle your account from the amount available in your medical savings account.
If these funds are depleted or if your plan does not have a medical savings account you may be required to settle the account yourself.
The majority of the time per-authorization is not required for an ultrasound examination.
In certain circumstances, a co-payment may be required and or your benefits may be depleted. If this information is known at the time of service, immediate settlement of the shortfall will be required. If feedback from your medical aid is obtained at a later stage you will be informed of the shortfall via WhatsApp message or email.
PRIVATE-PAYING PATIENTS
Our account will be rendered at our standard private rate. Same day payment will be acquired.
All SA residents who have contracts with insurance companies or international medical aid schemes are required to settle their accounts with us on the day of examination. It will then be up to you to claim it back form the insurer or international medical aid.
